Jabberwocky (2023)

A song for toy piano and medium voice using the famous nonsense poem by Lewis Carroll. There are many settings of this poem, some which are serious and creepy and others which are lighthearted and silly. I try to find a happy medium between those two aesthetics in this song that I wrote for singer Gwyneth Fernandes, who premiered the work on August 6, 2023. This work was performed again at the New Music by Longy Composers Concert on November 16, 2023 by Daniel Haakenson (countertenor) and Johnny Elliott (toy piano).
