Motet on a Text by Parton (2020)

A Renaissance motet-style work using text from Dolly Parton’s popular song “Jolene.” Writing this work was the final project assignment for a counterpoint class I had taken under the direction of Dr. Nicholas Reeves; I was able to choose from any text, secular or sacred, so of course I picked Dolly Parton.
