Lied (2022)

This piece, for kazoo and piano, was originally written for Erin McElhone’s senior dance thesis. She choreographed a dance and I composed music with the same conceptual ideas but the dancers never heard the music, and I never saw the dance, until the performance in spring 2022. This was the first time I took kazoo seriously and has since led to many more kazoo-related projects.
