Lilacs (2024)

A string quartet work including speaking parts for all performers. The text is an excerpt from Amy Lowell’s poem Lilacs, yet the musical material throughout the work is inspired by the rhythmic nature of the text and Lowell’s use of imagery and space. This work was premiered by the GAIA Quartet during a new music concert at the Longy School of Music.
